Make a Spring Floral Centerpiece
Let’s start off our list of DIY spring garden projects with an easy yet beautiful craft idea that, in fact, can be used both indoors and outdoors. One of my favorite DIY projects for spring is to make a floral centerpiece. They are great to be used indoors as they bring some greens and, of course, a delicious smell into our home. At the same time, they can also be used in your garden when placed on your outdoor table while having an early spring lunch outside. Whether you use yours indoors or outdoors, a spring floral centerpiece is guaranteed to add some color into your life.
There are many ways to make your own spring floral centerpiece. For this DIY spring garden project, I’ll list down my favorite way of making one but, if you have a different taste or style, feel free to make the necessary changes. First, you’ll have to gather the following materials: florist foam, large container, flower bulbs (I personally love to use Hyacinths), flowering branches, twine, and preserved moss. Once you have the items, making your centerpiece is relatively easy. First, you grab your container and fill up the bottom with floral foam. After that, you add in the flowers. You can either use soil to plant the bulbs one by one or simply place them inside with pot and all. After this, add the flowering branches at the edge of your basket all around and tie them together at the top with some twine. As a finishing touch, use the moss to cover the soil and/or pots, and you’re all set! A small centerpiece is a great spring DIY garden project to decorate your table whereas the larger ones can be placed on the pavement outside to add some color to your backyard.
DIY Vertical Garden
A fun and unique way to spice up your yard or balcony for spring is by making your very own vertical garden. The best part about this DIY spring garden project is that it’s extremely easy to make and it barely takes up any space. You can simply place it near any outdoor wall in your yard, on your driveway, or even at your balcony. In fact, it can even be used as an indoor garden for small apartments. This makes it the perfect DIY spring garden project for people who have limited space.
Making your own vertical garden is, in fact, extremely simple and cheap. The easiest way to make one is by using an old pallet. For this method, all you need is a pallet, colorful paint, 7 flower pots, metal hooks, and different flowers of your liking. First, take your pallet and paint it in any color(s) of your liking. Naturally, if you like the natural wood color, there is no need to paint your pallet at all. Once the paint has dried, take your flower pots and fill them with soil and your favorite plants. Now, use the iron hooks to firmly attach the pots to your pallet, and you’ll be all set!
DIY Flower Art
Who says that DIY spring garden projects need to be difficult and expensive? In fact, with a little bit of inspiration and the right tools, you can price up your garden for just a couple of Dollars. Take this funny flower art idea, for example. All it takes are a number of flower bulbs (or seeds), an old milk can, and some empty space in your back yard.
If you have an old milk can lying around at home and want to try this artistic DIY spring garden idea for yourself, simply get your hands on some white flower bulbs or seeds. Carefully plant them in your lawn in a wavy pattern that resembles spilled milk, place the old empty milk can next to it, and wait for the flowers to bloom. There truly is no easier, cheaper, and more unique way to decorate your garden for spring!
DIY Cracked Flower Pot Garden
You have most likely seen these cracked flower pot gardens before in your local flower shop. The problem is, however, that they can be rather expensive while, in fact, they are extremely simple and cheap to make by yourself. All you need are some basic materials and an hour of free time to make one for yourself. When finished, they offer a unique way to decorate your spring garden or outdoor table.
First things first, the materials. To make your own cracked flower pot garden, you’ll need a cracked terra-cotta flower pot and its shards (doh!), moistened soil mix, a number of succulent plants, bamboo, skewers, garden clippers, clean pebbles, and a handful of river rocks. After you have gathered all these materials, it is relatively simple to put them together to form a cracked flower pot garden. By up-cycling your old furniture into a vertical garden, you truly have found yourself a unique and environmentally friendly way to decorate your yard for spring.
Sure, we admit, this is one of the more difficult DIY spring garden projects, however, the end result is totally worth it. Luckily, with a little bit of skill, time, and the right materials, it’s not all that hard to make one for yourself.
