Halloween is right around the corner. This year, we want to help you throw the best ghostly dinner party to become the perfect Halloween host.
If you want to host the most amazing Halloween dinner, we will recommend you to focus on one area and go all-Halloween-crazy-in, rather than over-decorate every single space of your house. We have come up with 10 DIY ideas for a haunted, yet stylish, themed dinner night.
#1: INVITE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OVER
You need to let your guests know. Instead of using a text message or a call, why don’t you surprise them with something more interesting? You can send them a nice invitation letter by traditional mail. If you are running late and the letter won’t make it on time, go for an email invitation. Either way, it will show to your guests from the very beginning that this won’t be a regular dinner party!
#2: DECORATE YOUR ENTRY PORCH
Let your guests know before they step inside your house that the Halloween spirit has taken over your place. You can create some Hanging spider eggs to place on your porch. Add a few more spiders on the frame of the main door and the walls for a more haunting look!
#3: WELCOME DRINKS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED
Food is getting cooked, guests are arriving. Entertain them with a few drinks to get the soiree started. Arrange a bar area with a few bar stools to create an even greater atmosphere, and ask your guests to move to there. LANGRIA can help you to create your own instant bar. You could choose any set of the affordable and stylish LANGRIA bar stools, put a tall table up against your kitchen counter and voila! Your chic bar has been created.
Now that you have your private bar at home, it is time to offer some beverages. Here’s a great Halloween-themed drink cooler that you can easily make at home following these 5 steps:
#4: ASSIGN SEATS
This should be your night to shine! Every small detail matter. Surprise your guests by pre-assigning them to a seat. You will avoid people turning around the table to choose a place. Make funny and very easy bat-shape black cutouts (or any other shape that you like), and write the name of each guest on it, then place them on their given seat.
#5: USE CANDLES AS YOUR CENTER TABLE
You will create a beautiful and mysterious atmosphere by enlightening your table by using candles and bottles. You only need to collect a few empty glass bottles, for example, wine bottles, and use them as a support for your candles. Put as many bottles as you want to decorate the table.
Our Tip: when the wax starts melting down the bottles, leave it there, it will create an ever more spectral look. But think about putting something between the table and the bottles to avoid all the melted wax damaging the surface.
#6: ADD SOME DARKNESS TO YOUR TABLE
If you don’t want to go all traditional orange color on the decoration, it is fine! We think that you don’t need this color for Halloween at all! Get a gloom look by black-spraying a few pumpkins to add to the decoration of your table.
Our Tip: for a more stylish table, choose colors within the same color palette.
#7: MAKE SOME POTIONS
Drinking wine is too boring for your party, but what about drinking “The Brew of Wisdom” or some “Immortality Elixir”? Switch your regular wine glasses for some vials and tag them. Look for a nice vial design and look on your potion recipe's book for the most haunting names.
#8: SURPRISE EVERYONE WITH AN ARACHNID-STYLE CAKE DESSERT
This marshmallow cake idea from "thecakeblog" will impress everyone, and the best part is that it is easy and fun to prepare (and you can use the rest of the spiders that you didn’t use when making the hanging spider egg to decorate it). You will only need:
#9: GATHER AROUND THE FIREPLACE
If you have a chimney, get advantage of it for this spooky celebration. Put some decoration on it (you could add a few sprayed pumpkins and candles, remember to keep it simple) and make this area the after-dinner place for a few cocktails and games.
#10: IT IS COCKTAIL TIME!
After your successful reception and dinner, you have to end up the night with a few cocktails and boarding games for everyone.
A funny way to combine Halloween with your traditional cocktails is to add some food coloring to the sugar or salt when rimming your cocktail glasses. You could go for an orange color, a bloody red or a midnight black tone. It is up to you!
Psss...! Halloween sales will arrive this Friday the 7th October.
